Like many modern live stories, Alex and Colin met on a dating app in January 2023. Colin had just about given up on the apps after several months sifting through unappealing profiles, while Alex had decided to re-activate her profile after a 6-month reprieve. They both swiped right on each other and decided to meet at a bar in Delray Beach to see what might happen.

From the moment they sat down, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Alex told Colin she was attempting a dry January but would make an exception for “Jesus water” (aka wine), which Colin appreciated because there are few things more terrifying than a sober first date. They talked and laughed the entire night, and both walked away with the same feeling that this date was different—more exciting, more special, more genuine.

Life since then has been filled with all sorts of joy and adventure—traveling around the world, discovering great food, belting out songs well past bedtime, and through it all never forgetting to laugh nor take themselves too seriously. They’ve supported each other not only through job promotions and home renovations, but also in small quiet ways that continue bringing them closer together.

At the time they had no idea that a swipe right would lead to marriage, and they are excited to stand forever right beside each other.
